Ms. Terrica Brittany Turner!

 

My passion for fashion finally came to past after having my beautiful daughter, Jalila Elise, who inspires me to be all that I can be, in order for her to live out her dreams one day. I've always dreamed of owning my own boutique but somewhere on doubt alley, fear lane, and lack avenue; I continued to put off my plans thinking I didn't have all it would take to see it come to past (ample finances, faith, time, building, or support). I had been envisioning this happening since I was a teenager. I use to make my cousin sit, and watch me, while I dressed up and modeled, like I was in a fashion show, lol! My mom was my fashion icon! She was always dressed to the T! Always well groomed and set apart!  I followed in her foot steps and I ALWAYS got stopped by someone asking me, "Where did you get that from, How can I create that look, Can I go shopping with you, What made you put those colors together, I like that"   I knew I would make my mark one day in the fashion industry. It was a desire I couldn't shake. I knew God would not give me this strong of a desire and not fulfill it. Knowing the Word of God, I decided to "Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight." Proverbs 3:5-6 (NIV)

 

So I dug deep within and relied on my gifts and talents, mixed that with much faith, prayer, sacrifice, patience, and obedience; and trusted God for the rest.  J. Elise Boutique was conceived shortly after, in honor of my daughter, who already has an unique eye for fashion and all things pretty. I was consistent and never doubted that God wanting to do this through me. He gave me instructions and sent me to the right people who would assist me with seeing this come to past. When my passion for fashion became my vision, part of my purpose was birth! I'm very confident that I'll have great success in this endeavor and choose to lean on the word of God, knowing that "a man's gift maketh room for him, and bringeth him before great men." Proverbs 18:16(KJV)

 

"I wrote the vision and made it plain on tablets, So I ran with it. My vision was for this appointed time; it kept speaking to me, it did not lie. It tarried but I waited and waited and now the time has finally came! I walked this out by faith and not sight." Habakkuk 2:2-3

Thanks to my wonderful supermom, Brenda Turner, who nurtured my gifts and talents with so much positive affirmations and love! Thanks for inspiring me to be great and never counting the cost! Thanks you for instilling in me that I could do anything, if I put my mind to it and kept God first. Rest in Heaven Baby Girl......

 

Thanks to my mentor, Mrs. Nakeisha Pierce, who inspired me to "stop dreaming and start doing....." She reminded me throughout my test and trials to continue to strive for greatest and never apologize for it.
